Harry S. Margolis founded ElderLaw Services, the predecessor of Margolis & Associates in June 1987. Prior to that he was an associate with Palmer & Dodge in Boston. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the New York University School of Law. Mr. Margolis is editor of The ElderLaw Report, a monthly newsletter for attorneys, and was the founding general editor of The ElderLaw Portfolio Series, a compilation of in-depth studies on various aspects of elder law. Both are published by Aspen Law & Business. He is the author of the ElderLaw Forms Manual and publisher of the ElderLaw News, a quarterly newsletter for the firm's clients. He is also a Fellow and former member of the Board of Directors of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and founding President of the Academy's Massachusetts Chapter. Mr. Margolis has served on the adjunct faculty of Boston College Law School. He is the founder and president of ElderLawAnswers.

Jeffrey A. Bloom sees clients in our Boston, Framingham, Dedham, and Woburn offices. Since 1997, his practice has focused exclusively on counseling and advocating for clients regarding Medicaid eligibility, estate planning, elder and disability law, guardianship, probate administration and litigation, and planning for those with special needs. In 2008, he was named a Super Lawyer by Boston Magazine, after a peer and panel review which names less than 5 percent of Massachusetts attorneys.


He is author of West Publishing's first professional treatise on elder law for its widely utilized Massachusetts Practice Series, titled "Elder Law" to be released at the end of 2008. He is the co-author of "Nursing Home MassHealth Eligibility" for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education's Estate Planning for the Aging or Incapacitated Client in Massachusetts: Protecting Legal Rights, Preserving Resources, and Providing Health Care.



He has also authored numerous articles on elder and disability law for publications such as:

Attorney Bloom is a frequent lecturer in programs for attorneys, financial advisors, accountants and social workers, and has appeared as a guest expert on elder and disability law on television and radio shows.



He has served as an ombudsman for the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and also served on an Advisory Board of Health Law Advocates. Attorney Bloom is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, The Academy of Special Needs Planners, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.



Attorney Bloom received his B.A. in Economics from Brandeis University and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where he was awarded the Best Brief Award for research and writing. Before joining Margolis & Bloom, he worked as a judicial clerk on both the Massachusetts Appeals and District Courts.

Rebecca J. Benson is Of Counsel to Margolis & Bloom. Since 1991, her practice has focused exclusively on estate planning, Medicaid eligibility, planning for beneficiaries with special needs, and advocating for nursing home and assisted living residents.



Rebecca is the author of several works on estate planning and elder and disability law, published in Journal of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the RIA treatise on Estate Planning Law and Taxation; and MCLE's Estate Planning for the Aging or Incapacitated Client. She serves on a state-wide task force of advocates to strengthen regulatory protections for nursing home and assisted living residents. She frequently presents seminars on elder law and disability planning for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education and HealthEd. She has also taught at the University of Massachusetts Boston's Gerontology Institute, and is the author of Check Your Rights at the Door: Consumer Protection Violations in Massachusetts Nursing Home Admission Agreements. Rebecca is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, and the Massachusetts Bar Association.



Before joining Margolis & Bloom, Rebecca was of counsel to Cohen & Oalican, LLP. She also worked as a staff attorney for the Senior Citizens' Law Project of Cambridge & Somerville Legal Services and an associate with Goulston & Storrs in Boston. She received her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School and her B.A. summa cum laude and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Patricia D'Agostino

Patricia C. D'Agostino is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association. Patricia received her Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School where she was a dean's list student.



Throughout law school Patricia was employed at Lynch Associates, a lobbying and association management firm, where she managed the business and advocated on behalf of the commercial transportation industry to state and federal government. Patricia was a law clerk here at Margolis & Bloom during her last year of law school.



Patricia received her undergraduate degree from Suffolk University, graduating magna cum laude, with a major in political science and a minor in economics. During her tenure at Suffolk, Patricia traveled to Washington, D.C., to fulfill an internship with the Health Insurance Association of America.

Christina T. Christina is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is also a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Lawyers, Federalist Society, American Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Boston Bar Association.


Christina received her Juris Doctorate from New England School of Law, where she was a deans list student in the evening program with a focus on estate planning. Throughout law school Christina was employed full-time to clerk at various law firms. Before law school, she served as Senior Legislative Aide to Assistant Minority Leader of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Mary S. Rogeness. She received her undergraduate degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, where she was a deans list student. As an undergraduate, Christina was elected by her class to be their student representative, serving as the liaison between faculty and students. In addition, she was responsible for establishing an after-school dance program for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in conjunction with the local ARC organization.


Christina enjoys meeting with each of her clients, discussing their lives and their families and addressing their fears and concerns. She works closely with each client and takes the time to understand their situation, explain the process, answer questions, and tailor a solution that best meets their individual needs.
